2022-08-29 19:00:31 +0000 UTC View PostWelcome to Hall of Fame Sunday! I promise next month I’ll choose another sport other than baseball but I just really love the few guys I’ve chosen so far! This weeks Hall of Famer is non other than Lou Gehrig! Henry Louis Gehrig was an American professional baseball first baseman who played 17 seasons in Major league baseball for the New York Yankees. I think most of you actually might already know who he is. He was an all-star seven consecutive times, a Triple Crown winner once, an American league most valuable player twice, and a member of six World Series champion teams. He hit 493 homeruns and had 1995 runs battled in. He has the highest ratio of runs scored plus battled in 100 plate appearances per 100 games among Hall of Fame players. He was elected to the baseball Hall of Fame in 1939. And was also a native student at Columbia University. He signed with the Yankees on April 29, 1923. And he went on to set several major league records during his career. Unfortunately his greatness on the field was abruptly taken away by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis otherwise known as “Lou Gehrig disease”. This disease made him to retire at age 36, he then dies about a year later June 2nd 1941! I hate that! I feel like he had so much more to give us in baseball ⚾️! Comment down your favorite Lou Gehrig facts⬇️⬇️⬇️

2022-08-22 19:01:09 +0000 UTC View PostWelcome to Hall of Fame Sunday! So I guess I’m just really enjoying baseball this month! This weeks Hall of Famer is non other than Jackie Robinson! You know him and you love him! Jack 🤪 Roosevelt Robinson was an American professional baseball player who became the first African-American to play in major league baseball in the modern area.Jack 🤪 Roosevelt Robinson was an American professional baseball player who became the first African-American to play in major league baseball in the modern era. He truly integrated baseball when he started at first base for the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15, 1947. I think this is really interesting because my grandparents were born around that time so it really hits home for me that this wasn’t too long ago! He was inducted in the baseball Hall of Fame in 1962. During his 10 year MLB career Robinson won the inaugural rookie of the year award in 1947 and he was also an all-star for six consecutive seasons from 1949 through 1954 and he won the national league most valuable player award in 1949. Robinson would go on to play in six World Series and contributed to the Dodgers 1955 World Series championship. Now this is one of my favorite fun facts but the MLB retired his uniform number 42 across all major league teams and was one of the first athletes to do so! that sparked a new annual tradition called “Jackie Robinson Day”. I could go on for days talking about this man but I’ll let you guys get a chance to comment down your favorite Jackie Robinson fun facts⬇️⬇️⬇️

2022-08-15 19:01:30 +0000 UTC View PostWelcome to Hall of Fame Sunday! This week I decided I should switch it up! Since it tis the season why not do a bit of baseball. So this weeks Hall of Famer is non other than Derek Jeter! Born on June 26, 1974 Derek Jeter is an American former professional baseball shortstop, businessman, and baseball executive. As a baseball player Jeter spent his entire 20 year major league baseball career with the New York Yankees which led him to be elected to the baseball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 2020. This is a fun fact but he actually received 396 votes out of 397 possible votes which makes him the second highest percentage in MLB history behind his other teammate Mariano Rivera. Derek Jeter is the Yankees all-time career leader hits (3,465), doubles (544), games played (2,747) stolen bases (358), times on base (4,716), plate appearances (12,602) and at bats (11,195)! I mean those number don’t lie and thats a lot to beat if you ask me! This man has done a lot! Comment down any cool facts you may know about him⬇️
