Chelsea Designs: new art from old art 🖤✂️ I’ve been rearranging my furniture and wall art in my home to welcome in a sunnier season ☀️ I wanted to lighten up my space and incorporate more white so I brought out more of my white frames. Most of my prints and pieces are heavy on black so I took two minimal prints that I had from IKEA and created some fresh new art by cutting, cropping, shaping and taping. I was able to make newer-whiter art to fit the vibe of my new setup just by getting creative with my old art. TIP: instead of tossing or storing old basic wall art that doesn’t interest you anymore, make your own art with your favorite parts of the old! This not only allows you to get creative and less wasteful, but how cool is custom art that nobody else has? 🖤 Get creative and send me pics! 😉

Black lingerie is absolutely my favorite 🖤 The classiness of black intimate wear makes me want to have an entire closet full of beautiful black lingerie 🤩 One thing I love about black in general design is the way it contrasts and draws the eye in. This is a reason that black clothing and black lingerie are so cherished as well as black furniture, black artwork, etc. Another reason I admire the simplicity of black lingerie is the never-ending opportunity to dress it up and get creative. Designing an evening Vegas fit 🖤 I’m in Vegas with my girls!! Everyone looked sooooo cute last night. I wore this vegan leather shacket over a pair of black shorts and a metallic silver belt. Shackets are basically a cross between a shirt and a jacket and are incredibly versatile. I love the way this shacket lays more casually on the shoulders as opposed to a blazer. Chelsea Designs Accent Lighting 🤍💡 I recently took apart my modular sofa and separated the chaise lounge portion with the idea of creating a cozy reading corner in my living room. The combination of tall ceilings and low furniture can make any room look heavy and dull which is why it is important to balance visual weight not only around the room but also from floor to ceiling! Balancing the visual weight in a room can greatly enhance the architecture you are working with. I hung this delicate geometric light from the ceiling to balance out the visual weight. Notice how the thin black cord runs parallel with the white painted pipes, creating a satisfying linear look. TIPS: - Use lighting to draw attention to focal points in a room - Balancing your room’s height is key to creating a space with good design 🖤 check your dm for a few photos of me lounging comfortably in my little corner 🖤

I’m back from a few days off of social media 🤍 I’ve been enjoying every moment of this last week with my wonderful friends. designing a leather garter 🖤⛓ I thoroughly enjoy styling a bold look using accessories that are daring and not common. For this look I wore fitted solid black garments as a foundation and built up the outfit using leather and touches of chrome. I wore my super-tall thigh high black leather boots and an oversized black leather jacket. The garter emphasizes a feminine physique by accentuating the waist, hips, and thighs. Finished with silver accessories and silver chain purse to coordinate with the thigh chains ⛓ Tips: - If you are feeling adventurous or want to stand out in the crowd, accessorize with pieces that are not typically worn above clothing: body chains, garters, corsets. - Accessorizing with leather can take a black outfit from boring to bold and bad-ass 😎 hi @aliciagoesgreen in the last photo 🖤

Designing a New Year’s Eve look 🤍🤩 In my last post I talked about my appreciation of blazers and their ability to be so bold, sexy, and versatile. This look features a statement blazer with beautiful embellishments on the sleeves and light padding in the shoulders. I adore the airy light-weight feel to the fabric as well as the bright white color. Tips: -select your undershirt or undergarments accordingly so that they won’t overpower your statement piece. I wore a metallic silver bralette that compliments the little silver embellishments on the blazer’s sleeves ✨ -Wear nothing under your blazer for extra added sexiness to your look 😏 keep some fashion tape handy to hold your fabric in place This look is glam, chic, and sophisticated. designing a holiday party look ✨ Blazers are prefect for nearly every occasion due to their ability to be dressed up or dressed down. It is easy to find a variety of different fits, cuts, padding, and embellishments that make a blazer more tailored to your own personal style 🙂 This black slim cut blazer is part of a pants-suit from Zara that I adore. I opted out of wearing anything underneath to really amplify the gorgeous cut of the blazer and added a silver chain belt to cinch in the waist and make the look more exciting and festive 🎄 I hope you are all enjoying this holiday season to the best of your abilities 🤍 remember that giving is far more fulfilling than receiving. designing PRESENTS 🤍 I’m not going to lie and say I’m skilled in wrapping presents like some people naturally are, because I am absolutely not (lol), but I will say that I have found joy in staying true to my design style & adding creativity to gift-wrapping this year. It was actually harder than I thought it would be to find silver/black/white wrapping supplies without other colors on them! Putting effort into the presentation of your gifts makes a gift even more special 🤍 Tips: If you are picky or have a very narrow design style that you like to stick with, shop at a wide variety of places for your decorating supplies - the more options you see the more likely you are to find ones that fit your esthetic. This tip carries through basically all fields of design and decorating, especially interior 🙂 Think outside of the box when it comes to designing your gifts! Adding ribbon, labels, etc is just like accessorizing to complete a look. Opt out of basic Christmas bows and incorporate different types Christmas decor on to your gift ~ i used a small silver beaded garland as ribbon and used a simple silver jinglebell to dress up a black label 🖤 ❕❕❕speaking of presents ❕❕❕ my Amazon wishlist is linked to my page! designing a day in the sun 😎🌴 I love this teeny black bikini! My favorite part of this bikini is the top. I ordered this top from one of my go-to online stores called ASOS where it was advertised the way this top is worn in my first pic- a traditional triangle top with extra long straps to tie around the body creating a criss-cross detail. Later, I wore the top upside down allowing me to completely change the coverage in front as well as the design of the extra strap length in the back! Take a look how the design of the back of the suit transforms 🖤 I accessorized with thick chain hoop earrings, two chain ankle bracelets, toe rings, and my thick chain strapped cross-body; all in silver of course ⛓⛓⛓ Tip: - Dress up your simple bikini with accessories to make a beach or pool day more glamorous. Accessorizing while wearing minimal clothing can really compliment your body’s natural features as well as enhancing your glow 🤍

designing wall art 🖤 Over time I have collected a good amount of wall art that continuously moves around my space in every place I’ve lived. Currently, all of these pieces are housed on the mantle of an old fireplace painted white in the back hallway of my home 🤍 When thinking of ways to decorate this spot above my hall’s fireplace, I decided against a traditional gallery wall and rested the wall art on the mantle itself. I love that rather than all of the art being mounted on the wall, it is layered and interchangeable. This adds dimension in the space and allows me to move the art around easily when I want to change it up or relocate a piece somewhere else ☺️ I just wanted to share a few pieces that I love in this spot of my home and a some little details of their importance 🤍 Photo 3 - The black-framed print of sound waves was a customized gift that @itsmorganalexis gifted me as a housewarming present 🥺 the sound waves are from a song we used to listen to at the start of our friendship. How sweet is that!! - The framed art directly behind is a mixed-media piece I created in 2017 using paint, wax, marker, and clippings from a fashion magazine. Photo 4 - The front piece is a print hand drawn by my talented friend and awesome artist @alexandr1a.art . This is one of my favorite pieces ever 🖤 she just joined OF to share her creativity with you. designing indoor plants 🌿 In interior design and decorating, indoor plants are more than just useful decorative pieces. Indoor plants actually improve air quality by removing undesirable compounds like carbon dioxide. It is also said that indoor plants are beneficial when it comes to mood and productivity! I love the element of nature it brings into my space. I have never been a plant mom until I recently moved into my current place because I assumed that I wouldn’t be able to keep them alive. These babies have been in my home for 5-6ish months and I got them all at the same time! One was actually given to me by my grandmother 🥺 and it’s about 20 years old! I searched for soooooo long to find the perfect planters and found these ones from CB2. I love simple clean lines so the geometric square and rectangles fit in my home perfectly. The white is so bright with their high-gloss metal finish 🤩 I waited months for the sizes I wanted to be back in stock and I’m so happy I invested in planters that I adore rather than something that would just suffice 😌 Tip: Coordinating your planters with one another, whether it be the same style, color or finish, will provide a sense of unity in your home. designing a night out 🖤 My favorite outfits are those that can be feminine and sexy while still being and bold and daring. I loved this fitted mock turtleneck with the mesh arms because it is an essential classic with a sexy twist. The cut on the end of the sleeve really takes the shirt up a notch, I just wish my arms weren’t so damn long so the fabric could extend past my hands 😭 Pairing with crazy bold thigh-highs made this look even sexier. I opted for black shorts to show a little skin in just the right areas: l e g s🤍 Here are some things I find helpful when putting together an outfit that I want to “wow” in 😎 - Picking a focus. Decide what you want to be the focus of the look and style around it. What I did: I wanted the boots to be the focus of this look so I wore pieces that complimented the shoes without drawing the eye away from the boot - Styling your accessories and glam AFTER the outfit is selected. A strong leather briefcase , slicked back bun and smoked-out eye shadow made the final look more powerful and striking. If I wore my hair different or was wearing a ton of jewelry, this look would be completely transformed!

Designing a cozy modern holiday mantle 🖤 One of my favorite features of my home is this old fireplace no longer in use. I cleaned out all the previous debris and painted the smoke-stained, broken bricks 🤍white🤍 to modernize the whole thing. I also brought the white paint up to the ceiling above the mantle to give it more depth. To decorate for the holidays, I picked out cute little houses in both white ceramic and black metal. I added different trees as well as little lights to make it look like a tiny little cozy, glowing town 😌 Inside of the fireplace I realllly love the black metal candle holders with the white tapered pilar candles because they are so classic. They are thin and tall which allows me to utilize the height of the fireplace opening well. With those, I placed these cute Christmas tree tea-light candle holders that are also black metal. Decorating Tips: - carry through color schemes and finishes (metals, acrylic, ceramic) around your full design, not just concentrated in one area or one piece of decor. - SYMMETRY! Scatter taller and shorter decor pieces strategically to make your design more balanced. I find it helpful to step back and analyze colors and textures periodically making minor adjustments throughout the process My favorite thing about my mantle decor this year is how clean and simple it looks during the day when drenched in natural light, and how warm and cozy it is in the evening. The candles and lights give off a warm glow like that of a gorgeous fire. I love how the light reflects so nicely off the black tile on the floor 🥰 Christmas decor this year in my house is about to go craaazyyy. I’m talking white, black, and silver winter wonderland 🌬❄️☃️🤍 I can’t wait to show you guys my insane tree 🤩
