It was planned as one of my potential follow-ups to my 2018 mainstream single ‘Summer Lust’. Unfortunately the song never got a chance to fulfill its purpose, and so it lay dormant. When 2020 rolled around I had intended on releasing it as one of my singles as a part of my 1 to 2 singles per month release plan. It was meant to be released as an homage to Justin Timberlake's 'Senorita', one of my favorite tracks off of his 'Justified' album. It was to be released as part of an album, an album I had intended on calling 'Lust', with my 2018 single 'Summer Lust' being the springboard. But those plans fell through due to potential record label contracts not panning out for various reasons. In the end, the song remained dormant on my hard drives... until now. I hope you enjoy it! This marks the first time she’s ever sang in a professional recording as part of a full song. She’s been wanting to get into music and so I saw an opportunity and we ran with it. I wanted the chorus to be in French, and the rest of the song to be in English, to fully embrace what it means to be Montrealers. I had no real intention of releasing this song via iTunes, Spotify or any of those platforms. This song is essentially an experiment, one that we’re both very proud of. Initially the song was meant to have a much faster tempo and be more of a pop song as opposed to an emotional ballad. I also wanted to feature a female singer in the second verse, which I never got around to, because the more I worked on the song and the more I'd sing along to it, the more I felt it would sound better slowed down and stripped way of most its instrumentation. I wanted people to really feel the emotions. And so I started over and the version of the song you now know today was born. But I'd love for you to hear the initial direction of the song, and let me know which version you prefer, the one that was officially released or this one. 🇨🇦🇳🇬🇩🇪Boy.

It was meant to be part of a collaborative album by Jess Abran, my best friend and creative partner in crime, and myself.
