Great news the power supply for the NAS arrived early today ! That means we should be back up and running this evening. I’ll also be catching up on emails and responding where I left off. Fingers crossed that the NAS itself wasn’t damaged, but to make sure we never run into this issue again, I’ve decided to invest in a second NAS. This is well worth it, ensuring that if anything ever happens, we’ll have a backup and won’t have to go days without access.
Additionally, I’m hooking the NAS up to a solar power source to keep things running even during a power outage. Unfortunately, I don’t own an internet company (yet)😂, but this NAS is just a stepping stone toward something much bigger. If you remember, hosting through the website was costing me $8,000 a month a bill I simply couldn’t afford, and it took time to pay off the 10 months I was using it. I had to get a second job. Which I actually kept and am enjoying. I love y’all, but I can’t justify spending $8K a month just so you can stream my content. That would mean raising subscription prices, and they’re already high enough.
So, here’s the plan: I’m putting together my own server rack to host all my content directly from my home no third party streaming services needed. And on top of that, I’ll be creating our very own social platform, dedicated to my brown brothers and sisters who love white chocolate! 😈
