


Have you ever, literally, stepped over alligators π on a hike? After some encouragement from an older couple coming up on the trail behind me, I did π This hike is in Everglades Florida and there's TONS of gators π just sun bathing across the trail. Alligators are ectothermic, which means they rely on external sources of heat to regulate their body temperature. Meaning that they control their body temperature by basking in the sun or moving to areas with warmer or cooler air/water temperatures. I love alligators. They're such beautiful ancient creatures πΈβ¨
