I had plans to release it as one of my mainstream singles in 2022, but as we approach the end of the year, the more I realize that it just doesn't fit with my remaining planned releases. Sure I could push it's release to 2023 but the truth is I want to start the new year with a clean slate; with new creativity, new possibilities. I've grown so much as an artist and I owe to myself to explore what that means, and so I don't want to look back, but forward. And so I'm releasing it hear, as a free song, to give it space to fly, and also as a thank you, to you, for all the support you show me. 'Higher' features beautiful guitar work from Zenab Jaber, an artist I truly admire and respect, plus, a monologue from my Queen @adhdtravels (she also lends her singing voice to the last chorus).
